About Me

Hi, I am Bishnu your host.
Welcome to my blog.
I hope you are doing well and your family is too.
I like stories most, don't you?
In my childhood, I had not that many amenities for entertainment as compared to today's children have. Books and stories were my best friend. Stories from Maa's mouth, stories from colourful books and stories from radio broadcasts are examples that help me to expand my horizon of imagination. My imagination gets more vivid when I went to my Uncle's house (Mama bari) during summer vacation. There stays my sweetheart,- my beloved grandmother (Didima). Along with my little brother (uncle's son) I often listen to my grandmother's stories before bedtime. Initial days there was no electricity; calm night. the cold breeze and cosy shelter of grandma's lap give me the utmost pleasure in my little heart.
Imagine a pitch black night, a dim light of kerosene lanterns, drizzling rain outside and you are listening to a frightening horror story from your grandmother, how do you feel? is not that a thrilling feeling? Don't ghosts haunt you even in your dreams?
I know most of you will say 'yes' to those who have a similar experience of listening to stories from elders of the family.
Those are our golden days. Then all our stories come alive before us. The words of stories are permanently imprinted in our brains and hearts. However, as we become older we lose the capability to retain the liveliness of all things we encounter in our daily life. The question arises WHY? the answer is simple, we have no regard towards our little heart of childhood. To make ourselves rock solid we killed our inner child. On the contrary, we lose our ability to expand our imagination, see things from different angles and retain facts permanently.
HOLD!!!
I know, I know there are exceptions in all scenarios, here too, but they are not the Mango-People (General public), they are gifted ones. Here I am focusing on general people. Mango people's proportion is much more than the gifted people in the total population count.
I am a general public like you, let's continue.
As I mentioned earlier kids view things differently and retain things permanently, now one more question arises HOW?
Children learn from stories. The stories are presented in a simple but attractive manner that forced our cognition to imagine the characters in memory and play along with the story. The more vividness of the storytelling the more retention.
Now you may think how does storytelling help me to understand complex facts and use them effectively?
Remember, we all were kids once. Our little heart is hidden somewhere in our mature heart. We just have to ignite the desire to become a child again and Voila! you will see your little heart will start playing with you "Pick a boo".
I am here to help you to digest facts & fiction in a simple manner through stories. I will share stories with you- my stories, your stories, and the stories of all sorts of aspects that are known to me and exploring.
My mission is to provide my readers with informative, entertaining, and thought-provoking content that engages both the heart and the mind. Whether you're a fan of fiction, non-fiction, or anything in between, I hope you'll find something here to inspire and delight you.
Thank you so much for visiting Storytelling with Bishnu, and I hope you'll stay with me on this journey of discovery and storytelling!
